Course Overview
The Professional Welding course at ATTC delivers comprehensive training in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW / Stick), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW / MIG), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW / TIG). Trainees gain practical mastery in welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and structural beams in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions (1G to 4G and pipe positions), adhering to ASME Sec IX and AWS D1.1 standards.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand metallurgy, welding symbols, joint configurations, and power source polarity
- Perform SMAW (Stick) welding on structural plates and pipes with complete root penetration
- Master GMAW / MIG semi-automatic welding using CO2 / Argon shielding gas mixtures
- Execute precision GTAW / TIG welding on stainless steel, root passes, and thin-gauge metals
- Prepare bevel joints using oxy-fuel and plasma cutting torches and prevent welding flaws
